The Committee Economic Health Products (CEPS) replaced the previous Economic Committee of drugs in 2000. Its missions have been extended to cover health products and services associated with refundable in addition to drugs and it has been amended accordingly.
CEPS contributes to the development of drug policy by putting into practice advice it receives from relevant ministers, applying it notably to price fixing with respect to expenditure and financial regulation of the market. In order to carry this out, the CEPS reaches agreements with businesses on relevant topics, such as drug prices, price evolution, drug reimbursements, regulations concerning the proper use of drugs and sales volumes, as well as methods of participation of enterprises in the implementation of departmental policies.
