GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has had a presence in Singapore since the 1970s with its investment in an antibiotics plant. Since that time the company has developed a special relationship with the country, opening a number of ventures among them their Biologics plant and the Academic Center of Excellence.
GSK has a significant presence in Singapore: Singapore is home to their Regional Headquarters (EMAP), an R&D facility (Biopolis), two global manufacturing and supply sites (Jurong & Quality Road), a Stiefel manufacturing facility, and a state-of-the-art vaccines plant (Tuas).”
In 2010 GlaxoSmithKline launched the Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE) to be a virtual research network that will establish collaborations on projects of mutual interest to GSK and Singapore Investigators.
