Stan Jackson

Stan is a global health policy expert with deep knowledge on the history of the political origins of the global pharmaceutical industry.
After graduating in History as a specialist in the early pharmaceutical industry, he began his career as a journalist, working for The Times in London and Healthcare Global, where he interviewed top pharmaceutical executives from around the world. Stan has worked in health policy at the UK, EU and global level for think-tanks and trade associations and served as a speechwriter in the UK House of Lords for Baroness Tanni-Grey Thompson, a key figure in UK public health policy. Stan has authored numerous policy reports which have led to tangible policy changes in the UK and Europe in life sciences and public health.
In the past decade, Stan has advised several pharma businesses on policy and political change, and currently leads Global Oncology Public Affairs at Astellas, one of Japan’s biggest life sciences companies. He has represented the pharmaceutical industry in numerous international forums and committees and has spoken as a panellist or presenter at a host of events related to life sciences and health policy.
Stan has written and published hundreds of articles, both under his own name and on behalf of senior business and political leaders, including The Times / The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Independent, House Magazine, Politico, The Atlantic, PR Week, Centre for Policy Studies / CapX, The Fabian Society, and PharmaTimes, and has been interviewed by BBC News, BBC Radio and The Telegraph.
His first book, Root and Branch: The Origins of the Modern Pharma Industry is due to be published in late 2025.
